Eligibility Criteria and general instructions:
- You have passed a minimum of 110 ECTS before departure on your current DTU study programme
- A minimum of two years at university-level at the time of departure has been completed
- The course is taught in English
- If a course has a mandatory prerequisite, this will be mentioned in the course description and will have to be met by the student.
- The course is not reserved for students on a specific DTU study programme. If so, this will be written in red just under the course title in the course description.
- Courses may be oversubscribed (too many students sign up), preventing you from taking the course.
- Courses may be cancelled with very short notice (e.g. if not enough students sign up for the course), although this happens very seldom.
- If only one or two international students sign up for a course, the lecturer may decide to change the language of instruction to Danish, and then give the international students special lectures in English.
Courses and Grading:
- More than 1200 courses are taught in English within the natural and technical sciences.
- One can use this link to look for courses: https://kurser.dtu.dk/search
- It is recommended to take between 20 and 30 ECTS credits per semester depending on the requirements of the home university. 60 ECTS credits constitute a full academic year. The ECTS point system (European Credit Transfer System) is fully compatible with DTU's credit system, whereby 1 credit/ECTS equals 28 hours.
- The semester at DTU is divided into two teaching periods, a 13-week period and a 3-week period. In between the two teaching periods is an exam period for courses conducted in the 13-week period. The 3-week period (January and June) is optional and represents the opportunity to take an additional course of 5 ECTS intensively/full time.
- In other words, it is only possible to follow one course during the 3-week period. The exam of the 3-week courses is on the last day of the course.
