Eligibility Criteria:

In order to begin the application process, please first contact your own university's exchange coordinator in order to be nominated. Note: you can only be nominated by your university.

Once you have been nominated at TAU, you will receive all the necessary information regarding the online application process.

Courses and Grading:

| Courses: | Students should check their home university requirements and follow them when selecting courses (maximum 5 courses allowed). You can find most courses in our catalog, including Middle Eastern Studies, Finance, Business, Communication, Psychology, Philosophy, Arabic, and Jewish Studies.

Exchange students have the option, at an additional cost, to enroll in either a summer or winter intensive ulpan or to enroll in a Fall or Spring Hebrew semester course to better their Hebrew level. Housing, Accommodation and Transport:

| Housing | Study Abroad and Exchange students can be housed in either single or double rooms in Einstein Dormitories, Broshim Dormitories, or in TAU Apartments off-campus dormitories (pending the approval of the home school). All housing is pending availability and TAUI decides the housing placements for these students accordingly.

TAU Off-campus Housing TAU may provide off-campus housing to students (provided their home school approves) if there is no further availability on campus. The housing can be either in Midtown, Tel Aviv or the center of Tel Aviv. All apartments usually consist of 2-3 bedrooms with 2 roommates per room (4-6 students per apartment), and the same facilities that are provided in on-campus housing (there are no dryers in the off campus apartments). These apartments are generally more expensive and provided only if no other on campus housing is available. For study abroad students who would live off campus, a member of the student life team would live off campus with | | --- | --- | | Transport: | Transportation between the university and central Tel Aviv is easy – buses are frequent and there is a train station behind campus.

Tel-O-Fun offers hundreds of bicycle rentals at stations throughout Tel Aviv, including Tel Aviv University.

Dan and Egged bus lines serve the university and offer discounts to students, arranged during the first week of the Fall semester. |

Visa Requirements:

All students from all countries must obtain a visa prior to arrival in Israel. The visa you need to apply for is A2 student visa. A2 Student Visa – This visa can be obtained by applying to an Israeli embassy /Consulate in home country. In principle, exchange students are not required to pay any fees since they arrive here within the bilateral agreement between the universities. However, students are responsible to complete all special payments on time and before departure. In addition, students must return all books and other learning materials to the libraries. Students must verify that there are no debts of any kind to the University (i.e. tuition, dormitory payments, library penalties, etc.) We will not be able to grant a transcript if there is a debt, even if it is a minor one. In addition, the program will not inform a student of his/her grades in case of a financial debt.

Exchange students are not eligible to several activities without payment, for example:
